Local school turns to Chapters for help
with students’ course work

Key Stage 4 students at Rigby Hall school near Bromsgrove have started out on a BTEC course in health and beauty. Keen for students to experience health and beauty ‘in the real world’, the school approached Chapters for help. In December the students visited the salon, and now Chapters and Aston & Fincher, Worcester are joining forces to provide much-needed equipment for the school.

Zoe Aris teacher at Rigby Hall picks up the story: “I am a long time customer of Chapters (over 12 years) and when we decided to start the BTEC course I naturally thought of them as the first place to go to for help. When I approached Chapters they were so willing to help us every step of the way. The real icing on the cake was a visit to the salon just before Christmas. The salon team were so welcoming and friendly and our students got so much out of it. I could seem them growing in confidence afterwards, quite literally! Now, it’s beyond our wildest dreams that Chapters and Aston & Fincher are donating equipment for the school. The students will now be able to do so much more: before we had only a cold water sink.”

Chris Amos salon director at Chapters said: “We were delighted to welcome the students and to be able to help with both hairdressing skills and the all important social skills when meeting clients. It’s great it’s been such a success and everyone has got so much out of it. I'm really grateful to Aston & Fincher in Worcester. Together we are able to provide vital equipment the school simply didn’t have. One of the chairs from the salon is being reinstalled at the school and we’re providing hairdryers and ‘heads and stands’ for the students to practice their hair skills. We hope the equipment will make a big difference towards the students succeeding with their BTEC qualifications. And it goes without saying we look forward to see the students again at the salon in the near future.”
